Mid-term Mentoring Workshop

COOL RUNNINGS

Due to the fact that most schools were still in  session, our focus during our just concluded mid-term teen mentoring workshop was more of a "Time for Recess" learning.

This time, we focused  more on Teamwork, Collaboration, Problem-Solving and Active-Listening. We used the 1993 Disney movie titled "Cool Runnings”, and the book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey, to practically demonstrate how each participant can improve themselves as it relates to: Active-Listening, Communication, Problem -Solving and Collaboration; how they can be better collaborators with the team starting with their family as their “First team.”

We also had participants display their talents during the workshop to give them more fun as they expressed themselves. A few of them showed us their roller-skating skills, one took us to an art exhibition (we created this at the venue…. smile) with her painting and others did role play, comedy, riddles, and jokes.

Each participant was given a practical workbook to work with that will require a deeper reflective thinking before they can fill it. Please kindly assist them should they ask for help and be ready for more engagement as your young champions might come back to you with thought provoking questions, kindly obliged them.

Thank you for your support, we look forward to hosting your young champions again during the summer holidays. Please feel free to reach out to me should you require me to assist in any way with your teens.

Thank you.
